Important information about changes to Alaska Airlines® Platinum Plus® Mastercard® Credit Card Accounts.

As of August 31, 2023, the relationship between The Toronto-Dominion Bank operating a division as MBNA ("MBNA") and Alaska Airlines is ending. We've outlined how these changes will affect Alaska Airlines credit cardholders and provided some answers to frequently asked questions.

If you still have questions, you can Chat with an agent (available Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET). Or call 1-888-876-6262, Monday to Sunday, 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET (for TTY, call 1-800-872-5758).

Below we are highlighting changes to your Rewards Earn Rates, Redemptions options and Insurance Benefits of your new MBNA Rewards Platinum Plus® Mastercard® Card. Please see the letter that was sent to Alaska Airlines primary cardholders for more information.

Changes starting on September 1, 2023:

  • The name of your Alaska Airlines® Platinum Plus® Mastercard® credit card will become the MBNA Rewards Platinum Plus® Mastercard® credit card.
  • You will start earning MBNA Rewards Points.
  • You will be able to redeem MBNA Rewards Points for travel, cash back, brand-name merchandise and gift cards from participating retailers.
  • We are finalizing arrangements that will, within the next year, also allow you to redeem MBNA Rewards Points for Alaska Airlines Miles on a one-to-one basis, with the ability to earn up to 2 MBNA Rewards Points per dollar spent on eligible purchases. That could add up to a lot of Alaska Airlines Miles with this new redemption option!

We know this is an unexpected change. We’re doing everything we can to help ensure that your experience is as smooth and seamless as possible. You can continue to use your existing credit card the same way you do now. The changes will take effect automatically on September 1st, 2023. You will receive your replacement MBNA-branded credit card plastic no later than October 30th, 2023.

Here’s what stays the same:

  • Any Miles you’ve earned up to and including August 31, 2023, will continue to be available at Alaska Airlines, in accordance with the terms of the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Program.
  • Your credit card number, PIN and credit limit will remain the same.
  • No change to your Interest Rates.

  • There are no changes to your statement closing date, Minimum Payment due date or purchases enrolled in Payment Plans.
  • If you have the optional balance protection insurance coverage on your credit card, it will transfer in accordance with your certificate of insurance over to your replacement card and your insurance premium will continue to be charged monthly to your replacement card.

Here's what's changing:

You will start earning MBNA Rewards as of September 1, 2023.
